Southside Speedway Dedicated to Families and Fans
Midlothian, VA, July 1, 2009 – Southside Speedway remains dedicated to providing the #1 Friday Night Family Entertainment for central Virginia. The economic times have been hard on all parties in the central Virginia market. In lieu of raising ticket prices and other fees, the speedway will implement several new initiatives effective with the July 10, 2009 race keeping Southside Speedway affordable for all. Southside Speedway management and officials recognize the importance of being known as a fan friendly track with an emphasis on families and kids. Due to the overwhelming fan response, Southside Speedway WILL allow coolers into the track for all future races this season. We ask that you continue to limit the size of your cooler to 18 inches and include no glass bottles. Southside Speedway plans to offer an increased number of give-a-ways and ticket drawings for fan gifts and prizes. To keep your children happy and entertained, we will be providing more participation opportunities and entertainment focused on our younger fans. To thank our loyal fans, the speedway will implement the “Didn’t Miss a Race” promotion. Retain your ticket stub from the July 10th race and present it on July 17th to receive $1.00 off towards the price of admission. Continue to check our website, www.SouthsideSpeedway.com, for our new link, “Tell the Track”, where our drivers and fans can send comments, suggestions and/or ask questions.
The upcoming races on July 10th will be a “Salute to Scouts of America” featuring a 100 lap Late Model Sportsman, 100 lap Grand Stock, 25 lap U-Car and a 20 lap Champ Kart race. All Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts appearing in their full uniforms, including Scout Masters, will receive free admission. In addition to the scouts getting in free, up to two (2) of their accompanying parents will receive a $2 discount off the regularly priced adult general admission ticket. The troop with the most scouts in attendance will receive a free pizza party courtesy of Vocelli Pizza.
